Conservation Starts Right Here in Brown County!
Your Brown County Soil & Water Conservation District (BCSWCD) works with landowners, farmers, homeowners, and community members to protect and improve the natural resources that make Brown County special. From healthy soils and clean waterways to thriving forests, wildlife habitat, and erosion prevention, we provide free, voluntary technical assistance, conservation resources, education, and connections to funding opportunities that help people make a positive impact on their land and community.
Why should you care? Because the health of our soil, water, forests, and wildlife affects all of us. Whether you own 2 acres or 200, have a stream in your backyard, manage a farm, want to remove invasive plants, or simply want to learn more about conservation, there is a place for you in this work.
You don't have to be an expert to make a difference! Reach out, ask questions, attend a program, volunteer, or explore ways to improve your own property. We're here to help you get started!
Healthy soil. Clean water. A strong community. That's conservation in action.
