Started in 2007 by then District Manager, Cathy Paradise, the Brown County SWCD wanted to give back to the community when outside funding became less and less available. This unique program allows Brown County residents to apply for cost-share money to help them achieve their conservation goals.
Past Conservation Mini Grants have included:
invasive species control
planting buffer strips
installing water bars on trails
building compost bins
creating pollinator habitat
assisting with creating a rotational grazing plan
planting native species
creating a rain garden
installing water catchment devices (rain barrels and/or IBC totes)
building a hoop house
etc!
Download a copy of the Conservation Mini Grant Application here. Fill it out, then drop it off or mail it to our office. You can also stop by the office to pick up a physical copy.
Once you have submitted your Conservation Mini Grant Application to the office, BCSWCD Staff will be in contact with you to ask clarifying questions and/or to workshop your conservation ideas and goals to help make your application the strongest application it can be before it goes to the BCSWCD Board of Supervisors for Review. Applications are now accepted year round and reviewed monthly.
**SUBMITTING AN APPLICATION TO THE BCSWCD OFFICE DOES NOT GUARANTEE FUNDING.
